Zion Women of Faith and Fellowship Attend Women of Faith Conference

A group of six ladies from Zion traveled to Cleveland, Ohio on July 18 and 19 to attend to the Women of Faith Conference. The group experienced great fellowship, great spiritual growth and "re-charging" and is excited to begin planning for gathering an even larger group of women to attend next year's conference.


 

ZLCW Celebrates Summer Retreat Together

Zion Lutheran Church Women held its annual summer retreat on Saturday, July 19. Guest speaker was Nancy Bucher from The Toledo Zoo who shared her expertise on the care and keeping of household plants. She demonstrated methods of raising new plants from cuttings of existing plants.

Anna Marie Grimm reported that the national assembly of Lutheran women recently concluded in Salt Lake City adopted a resolution to move away from the use of plastic beverage bottles because of their danger to personal health, strain on the world’s petroleum supply, and pollution of the environment.

To raise funds for ministry and mission a “Christmas in July” auction was held including Christmas ornaments and other decorations, cooking equipment, and potpourri.

Monthly women’s circle Bible studies will resume in September.
