SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION & UPDATE!
Zion awarded scholarships to 8 members this year. “Thank-you” to all who contributed to this fund so that it can continue to provide monetary support to those pursuing further education.
The scholarship committee has made changes to both the application deadline and student eligibility. It was difficult scheduling interviews with applicants during the summer months so the new application deadline is April 1st. Interviews will be conducted during April and, if necessary, May.
Also, in order to ensure that as many different applicants receive the greatest amount of money possible (based upon available funds), the scholarship is now a one-time award. Once a given student has received the scholarship, he/she is no longer eligible for future awards.
Any member interested in applying can contact the church office for an application. School transcripts and personal references must be submitted to the office by the stated deadline and then an interview is scheduled. Awarded applicants can receive up to a $750 scholarship, dependent upon number of applicants and available funds. Awards are payable to the institution of learning for tuition payment.

INTRODUCING WARM PROJECT (WRAPPED & RESTED MINISTRY)
Cherry Street Mission Missionaries provides safe and free emergency housing for men and women who are homeless in our area. Cherry Street provides services for approximately 200 homeless men and women each night. For many of these individuals, this is the first night in a long time that they have slept in a safe environment. Cherry Street does not receive government funding so they can only make these opportunities possible through generous donations from members of their community. Currently, Cherry Street does not have enough blankets for every guest at night. Because of this, WARM was created to help fill this need. We will be purchasing materials and making tied fleece blankets that will be donated to Cherry Street. These blankets are extremely warm and durable and will provide comfort to many guests for years to come.
